Make Time for Love

Slide1

Make time for what and who you love.

How busy are you? Are you making excuses? Are those excuses about “not enough time?” Do you know what you would prefer to be doing given all the time in the world?

We have as much time as we need for what we love to do and who we love. Many of us have to work, yet many of us are still working too much. We think we need more “stuff” to be happy, so we spend more time making money to get more “stuff”. Is this “stuff” making you happier? Or is it filling a hole? What hole is it filling? Are you lonely?  Feeling unloved or unworthy? Are you craving attention to boost your self-confidence?  Perhaps you are fearful of understanding yourself and working all the time keeps you from thinking about your own issues? Whatever the case may be, it’s important to know we need a healthy relationship with our selves by making time for ourselves.  We also need to know it’s healthy to interact and enjoy time with those we love.

If we are not making time for what we love to do and who we love in our lives, it’s time to ask why. It is easy to get caught up in the “to-do” list. But what is on your “to-do” list? Is it ego fulfilling or soul fulfilling?  Ego-fulfilling items can be doing what society thinks we should be doing.  Working harder to prove we are hard-workers. Between our home, families and work, we can always find something to do. Then we tend to talk about how busy we are doing all these things.  Well, what about doing something soul fulfilling?  Something which makes you truly happy?  Maybe it’s exercising for the joy you find it (versus it being a chore on your to-do list), like walking through the park or along a beach, doing yoga or playing in a pool. Perhaps it’s playing a round of golf with friends. Maybe it’s going to a movie, playing a game with your kids, any arts & crafts, sitting quietly, meditating or going for a leisurely drive and letting the energy take you somewhere new to discover.  Any of these can be soul-fulfilling, and while doing them you may uncover or discover a passion you forgot about.  This passion could lead you to your life purpose, which you may be able to turn into your career.  And, having a career doing what we love is making time for what we love to do.

We all know in this 3D world we have our bills, need food and shelter, however, what choices are you making that are not in line with balance and enjoying your life? What is unhealthy for you mind, body or soul?  How can you change it?  If you do not like your job, are you searching for a new one or perhaps building your own business more in line with your passions?

Another question to ask yourself is “are you loving your to-do list?” How many times have you caught yourself doing something on your list versus Being in the moment? If you are so ingrained on getting things done, you aren’t being in the now and most likely aren’t enjoying yourself. You may not like cleaning, and find yourself complaining to yourself while you do it.   While doing one thing, you may be thinking about the next thing you need to do, which causes us stress. Make that “to-do” list and think of something else you can do which is creating balance because it helps you in some way. Try playing music you enjoy, which is known to elevate our energy. Or incorporate something else like yoga poses.  I clean the floors while in Goddess Pose, which makes my body and soul feel better because I love yoga.  I incorporate others poses here and there as well as I move from one thing to the next. I also practice deep breathing exercises and meditation while doing home chores. Combining our to-do list with what we love can really help us find time for what we love.

Can remember how often you may use the phrase “I don’t have the time” or “I’m too tired.” Next time ask yourself “Why am I not making time for myself or my loved ones?” and “Why am I so tired?” Ask yourself “Why is it important to me to be doing things from my to-do list versus (insert a fun activity)?”  Determine if you are truly tired and need to rest, or if you need a boost of energy by doing something you love. When we dig deep, we can find issues we may not want to face, but by facing them, we can heal them and let them go. “Busy work” is often a band-aid for something we do not want to face within ourselves. It keeps the focus from us, tiring us out, so we do not have to think about our internal “problems.”  However, the more we can dive within to deal with and heal from our issues, we reveal another layer of our authenticity. When we live our truth, or our authenticity, we attract more opportunities we would love to do, as well as, more people we would love to spend time with, as they are seeing us for our true selves.  Therefore, we are creating and manifesting time to do what we love to do, while also creating time to spend with those we love.

Perhaps it’s time to re-evaluate the to-do list and create a different list. Perhaps the list can be named the “Love List”. List all the things you love to do and all the people in your life with whom you wish to spend time. Start carving out time in your days to accomplish your “love list”. Note, it’s important that we are not checking off items like a “to-do” list, but creating time and a life in which we can enjoy all the things and people we love more often, through healing, awakening our authenticity and living the life we love.

What’s on your “love list”? I’d love to hear about it!

Namaste!

Support Systems

Slide1

We all need our support systems.

We require physical, mental and emotional support. We require spiritual support. Support for our opinions, beliefs and feelings. Each individual requires support in all the stages of life. As infants we need our head supported, to be fed, changed and clothed. As we grow, we need support as we learn to crawl and then walk. We need classes and training to support our education. When participating in sports or team events our team mates, coaches and audience support us. During daily life, assisting each other at work, or with home chores is support of one another.

Relationships with others and the proper way to interact with different personalities is another way we can support each other. Sharing our own experiences and stories helps in this fashion. Learning acceptance and discernment, awareness and openness are all things we can do to help our selves and others, as we can be supportive without criticism or judgment.

We also need others to help us learn how to cultivate self-worth, self-confidence, self-love and more. We need to help others in all of these areas, while others are also helping us. Sometimes these lessons are easy and at times they are extremely challenging, as we learn more and more about our selves and the way we may be acting or reacting to another person or situation. In these instances working with a Reiki Master, Life Coach or Counselor can be very helpful, and these professionals are providing you the support you need.

We need to truly understand the type of support which may be required for us and of us. At any given time, we may need a teacher, a coach, a friend or a mentor. Maybe we need family to help us understand love of one another regardless of mistakes and problems. Maybe we need friends to offer advice, but perhaps we simply need them to be a sounding board, to listen to us while we talk it out and figure it out by our selves. Perhaps we need an intuitive guide, showing empathy and helping us to determine how to heal, release and grow.

It is important to discern what type of support we need, and what others need. Sometimes the support type is very clear, and sometimes we need to ask how we can help someone. We need to comprehend our way of needing support may not necessarily be someone else’s way, therefore, a simple question allows us to supply what is needed. Understanding of each other and our own and others’ needs provides us a better way to be kind and compassionate with unconditional Love. It allows us to step back and simply be the support system without being upset someone may not be following our guidance because it may not resonate with them at that time. It may later, and it may not, but we need to detach from the circumstance, and remember, we are all walking very different paths on our unique journeys. In those instances where the type of support is not readily apparent, and sometimes even if it is, a simple “how can I support you?” may be the key to offering and being the type of support truly needed at that time.

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing both people in my life who have not known how to support me, and those who do know or simply asked “What can I do for you?” Some who have listened, some who have offered advice, yet through it all continued to show their support and love. I’ve had others who have become frustrated with me and seemingly abandoned me. I have had those who judge my decisions and those who accept them. I have had those who have jeered me and those who have cheered me.  In the end, I’ve learned something from each person, instance and treatment.  I’ve been able to still work through my issues, with the support of those around me who stuck with me.  And, being that type of person is the kind of support we all would like and need, regardless if we are able to help the other person “fix” the issue, or not, whether or not we offer or give advice which is taken or not at the time. We need to realize offering support that the other person needs is not about us, it is about them and what they need.  We are simply meant to be here to support others in any way they need with Love. And, in return, we will find others learn from us and become the support we need, whether they leave our lives, stay or return in some fashion. Support is all about learning and growth for everyone involved.

Revive your Soul

Awakening includes reviving the connection to your soul.

Slide1
To fully awaken into our authenticity & soul mission, we need to revive, regenerate & rejuvenate our connections to our souls which link to Spirit. Our souls are pure Love & Light, and they are pure Joy. As young children, many of us were still connected to the joy of our souls, as we knew what made us happy. We would play, read, color and more, enjoying our days, creating in some fashion. I enjoyed coloring and could color for hours. When my first niece was born, she became of an age where she enjoyed coloring and when I would watch her, we would both color and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was in my mid-30s at the time. When her sister was born, and became of age, several years later, all three of us would color. I even colored in a mandala with colored pencils a couple of months ago and it was extremely meditative and reminded me of the pure joy of creation, as well as, the lovely time spent with my nieces. Of course, coloring was only one thing I loved doing as a child, but it reconnected me to that carefree time.

Creating or reconnecting to what we love brings back our pure joy, reminding us we are of Spirit, a soul manifested as a Human Being in this lifetime. Reviving our souls is to reconnect to what makes our souls sing for joy, doing what we love, what we have a passion to do with our inherent gifts. Reviving that connection can be through many things such as remembering what you loved as a child, meditation, yoga, spiritual guides and more.  It can include actually doing what we did as children, too, as I found out. Reviving, regenerating and rejuvenating our souls helps us to further awaken our natural gifts & talents, revealing more of our authenticity. The more we live into our authenticity, the more carefree we can be.

As I became older, in my teens, I recall I still had books to color different designs. Looking back, it was meditative for me, as my mind quieted. Did I realize it then? No, but I do now. And I can go back to it. In high school, I started to love writing as another form of creation, and,of course, still do! For awhile in my 30’s I even loved pottery, taking classes to learn how to make pottery on a wheel. I did this for several years and would love to get back to it someday, as it helped me further remember the joy of being able to create something. Awakening our creativity is another key to creating the life we wish to manifest. Plus, looking back on the pottery, for me, it was connecting more fully with Mother Earth, which again, I didn’t realize then, but now I recognize why I loved it so much. I became more connected as ONE with Mother Earth by sculpting  and working with something from Her – the clay. I believe we are all ONE with each other, with Mother Nature and with Spirit. and we are also Spirit and Mother Nature. This is part of my authenticity, as I awakened to this concept through my life, and more so over the past decade. It delights me to have the deep inner knowing of how we are all connected and living our passions helps manifest what we desire for freedom.

Any type of creativity we enjoy can help us reconnect, revive and resuscitate our souls to help us move more fully into our soul mission. Mine is writing about topics such as healing, spirituality, awakening, transformation, co-creation, unity, and manifestation, among others, while helping guide others to do the same. The healing process is also part of moving into our authenticity to awaken and revive the connection to our true souls, our true purpose & our soul mission. Once our authenticity is revealed by reviving the connection to our souls it allows us to live more fully into the pure love, light & joy and ultimate freedom, which we all have as our Divine right.

Please contact me for guidance to revive the connection to your brilliant soul light!

Morals are Adjustable

Sometimes we need to adjust the definition of our morals. Slide1

What are our morals? Our ethics? It’s what we believe is right. But, what is right? Is anything truly right? It may be right for you at that moment. It might be right for someone else but doesn’t ring true for you. Our morals and ethics boil down to what we believe to be true and are part of our values.  Our values are what we think, or believe, are important.

Our beliefs are flexible, mutable and shiftable. They are adjustable. As we move through life, meeting & communicating with more people, we have the opportunity to shift our beliefs, or our morals ethics and values. For instance, in some cultures and some homes, it is morally right to remove your shoes when you walk into the front door, in the foyer. It is believed it is the right thing to do. In others, you are to remove your shoes before you walk through the front door. Which is right? Is one wrong? Which do you believe to be true?  Do your friends, neighbors and family feel the same way? Has it changed over the years? Why is it accepted to keep your shoes on in public buildings? It is claimed it’s for safety.  Is it safer? Many ashrams, which are public, ask you to remove your shoes. They are not worried about safety. They ask you to do it for respect and cleanliness.  Are ashrams right and your office building is wrong? Or vice versa?

I remember growing up, my mom insisted we remove our shoes when we entered the home to keep it clean. She valued cleanliness.  Now my mom doesn’t care if you leave your shoes on. She still likes a clean home, but no longer thinks taking your shoes off is the only right thing to do. She even leaves her shoes on, because it makes her feet feel better.  I tend to wobble back and forth with my own home. I still believe it will keep the home cleaner, but to me I would prefer someone feel comfortable in my home, and some people feel more comfortable leaving their shoes on. And I’m okay with that.  I also like to be barefoot, but I have to agree, at times, my feet feel better when I’m walking around in my Birkenstocks outside or inside.

This same philosophy can be applied to deeper and more challenging ideas. Ask questions of yourself. Ask yourself what you believe to be true and decide whether or not you need to change your morals either based on where you are physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.  Are you right? Is the other person right?  Does someone else have another belief completely different?  Is this person right, then?  Who are you with?  Does this make a difference in what you believe? Where are you?  Does this make a difference?  Does another point of view based on similar or different circumstances or people feel better to you?  Because we have the power to change ourselves, it give us the power to change our beliefs.  Remember, they are flexible and shiftable.  So they can change based on the person you are with or the situation you are in.  They are mutable, which gives you the ability to flow with whatever feels right to you at that time.  And, if it feels right to you at that time, you can begin to see if it feels right in other future situations. Perhaps you will find you have changed your belief.  Perhaps you find your belief is not as stringent as you once thought.  Perhaps you may find you have completely changed your attitude. Perhaps you will find you have awakened to the aspect that you are not always right and someone else is not always wrong.   Questioning morals allows you to recognize where you are on your path is right for you at this time, and if someone else is in a different space, it is currently right for them, just different than you.

Our morals are a wonderful way to see differences in others, and accept them for what they are – differences.  No right.  No wrong.  Just different.  Giving ourselves the freedom to adjust the definition of our morals, ethics and values allows us the incredible flexibility to be open to all situations and experiences. This in turn lets us see them from a different perspective and viewpoint to once again see if we either need to change our beliefs or have already done so in some way. It allows us to be in the flow of life, as well as, be the flow.

May you give yourself the flexibility to adjust the definition of your morals.

Namaste!

Responsibility for Self

When you take responsibility for yourself, your life will change.

Slide1

Many of us are just “going through the motions” of every day life. We are doing what is expected of us, versus what’s truly in our best interests. From jobs to family, we are following the patterns of our ancestors. We may feel as if we are being “the adult” or “being responsible”, but are we? Are we doing what is needed only, without doing what we truly desire? Are we blaming others for our unease, discomfort, imbalance or unhappiness? Then we are not taking responsibility for ourselves. Yes, the bills may need to be paid, but if we are paying the bills with money earned in a job we don’t like, then we are unhappy and this is similar to blaming another for our unhappiness. We can take responsibility for ourselves in this situation by changing our attitude or changing our job. By changing one or the other, we are starting to take responsibility. We can see things more clearly. We can begin to discover what we would rather be doing to earn income. We can look for those avenues and follow them. The path will lead where ever the most energy is placed, and if we put that energy into ourselves, then our life will change. That’s what the path is all about – taking responsibility for ourselves and doing what we are truly meant to be doing because that is our passion. And, then, it’s not work…it’s living our passion.

How do we take that responsibility?  First, it’s important to uncover your sources of unhappiness and why they are there. This is looking within you.  Signs and signals include how you feel in any given situation with any person.  Taking offense at something someone says about you, being defensive or sulking about and not speaking your truth.  Speaking your truth is not being defensive.  It is simply stating your beliefs, and moving on.

Next you can ask yourself what makes you uncomfortable, imbalanced, uneasy and so forth…and why?  Does it make you uncomfortable to be around someone who appears stronger than you?  More beautiful?  More loving?  Why do you feel this way?  You can continue asking yourself in each situation what you truly feel deep within to reveal your issues.  This is awareness of the issue. Once you have revealed them to yourself, you can accept them, remembering acceptance isn’t agreeing, it’s accepting what is so you can adjust it, or change it.  Changing it requires inner work and understanding of why you feel that way.  Perhaps you feel as if you need to be right all the time.  Why?  Were you punished when you were wrong as a child?  Were you made to feel inadequate?  Were you not allowed to tell the truth of how you really felt?  Any of these scenarios can cause us to react in a poor manner towards ourselves or others when faced with a similar situation. Accepting this is the reason why, it can be changed by changing your thinking.  “No one is perfect.”;  “No one can tell me how I should be feeling.”; “I’m worthy of respect, honor and love.”; or many other statements repeated as often as you can.  This is taking responsibility for yourself and not allowing another who is having their own issues to affect you in a manner that is harmful to you.  Continuing this positive line of thinking with positive affirmations, intentions and statements throughout the day will help you to transform.  Awareness. Acceptance. Adjustment. Just follow those Three-A’s to help yourself transform!

May you take responsibility for yourself and live your passion.

Have a De-LIGHT-Filled Day!

Mindfulness & Enlightenment

Slide1There is a recurring theme I notice in life.  It’s that we are not mindful as we go through our days. Once,  while leading one of my yoga classes, we were doing Moon Salutations for the New Moon. I like to mix things up after a few rounds, and sometimes each round for both focus and mindfulness. This particular class had three individuals who have done this flow with me many times. What occurred, was all three of them anticipated a pose I included in the last round, and none of them heard me lead them into a different pose at that point. All three of them are in Crescent Moon pose, and I’m in Warrior II pose. I joked that their Warriors all needed some work…and all three of them looked at me at the same time. They realized what they had done. They weren’t paying attention and being in the moment. This was an “Aha” moment. This is just one incident, but many occur to each of us on a daily basis.

Mindfulness allows us to focus on ourselves and can help us reach for enlightenment.

Mindfulness is being in your present moment without anticipating what is coming next. It’s allowing what comes next to flow to you. So many people tend to go through the motions without being attentive to the situation. Driving is a perfect example. While driving, many are paying more attention to distractions such as the radio, the cell phone, other car occupants, or thinking about their “to-do” list. Yet, driving requires mindfulness. If you aren’t paying attention to driving, you might hit another car, or you might run a stop sign, or worse, hurt yourself or someone else.  Another example is when we are rushing through a chore or are running late, and we aren’t paying attention to what we are doing, and we either fall down, run into something or harm ourselves in some other way.  It’s important to slow down, breathe and be very aware of what you are doing to avoid causing harm, but also to learn something new.

Mindfulness is many things, as well. It’s being attentive to each moment, action, feeling and thought. It’s ensuring you know exactly what is happening around you and within you, without judging or comparing. It’s being completely aware and focused in the present moment without worrying about the future or repeating your past. Mindfulness is not allowing yourself to be distracted by outside forces, people, events or situations. Mindfulness allows you to focus solely on you and the purpose at hand. Mindfulness can then lead to enlightenment as you recognize what is happening within you. You can then be aware of a feeling that crops up repeatedly or a situation and you can attend to it. I’ve recently recognized through a healing session I had with my healing friends that I have hips which are rounded in. I’ve been to chiropractors and not one ever mentioned this to me. Perhaps I wasn’t ready for that message yet.  But, the hips have been causing my lower back tightness, and this area, front & back, is the sacral chakra. The message for me was very profound physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. I learned  something that I didn’t realize I was still carrying around for the past two decades or so…from previous lifetimes! Being mindful of my hips, and connecting this to the message has allowed me to release some cords for healing….mind, body & soul…very enlightening.

May you practice mindfulness in your life and reach for your enlightened self!

Ultimate Freedom

Do you feel your life is out of your control? Perhaps all the time? Perhaps only some of the time? When we feel this way, our stress levels tend to increase and we can become anxious, or upset. These feelings do not bring us peace, nor do they provide us with a feeling of freedom.Slide1

When we learn how to take control of our own lives, we will know true freedom.

Taking control of our own lives includes being aware of who or what is controlling you, and how it’s happening. Perhaps why it’s happening. For instance, if you are always available when your manager needs something from you, even though you must get something done for you, you are allowing it to happen. You are giving your control away and your power. Perhaps you believe if you are not always available, the manager will write you up or fire you. A simple question can begin to help you: “Do you need it right now, or can we schedule a time to discuss it?” This can also lead to a small conversation, however, you are taking control simply by asking it. Sometimes you will get a “no” and sometimes a “yes”. It’s practicing compromise.

Another way to help take control of your life is cultivating more acceptance of the current circumstance you find yourself in and not allowing your feelings to be controlled by another. Acceptance does not require you to “like” it. It merely requires you to accept it. When you are able to accept everything in your life…whether it is something you like or dislike, peace ensues. And, again, you feel freer, as you are not bogged down with anger or worry. It’s freeing to feel the acceptance and through this feeling, you can take control. You realize your own power in the situation. You can take control of how you feel, how you think and how you act or react. This also brings a sense of freedom.

When we allow others to control us, we are giving our power away. We feel “powerless” to do what we want and need to do. The only person you are responsible for is you. You have the power to control you. By continually using the question and cultivating acceptance of any answer, freedom follows. These concepts can be applied to any person or situation in your life. As you work them into all facets of your life, the way you feel will begin to change. You will feel more in control as you bring back your power. Then, you will know true freedom.

May you take back your power and discover ultimate freedom!

Unleash your Power

Slide1I know I’m not the only one who has been mesmerized by the animated film, “Frozen”, nor the only one who has written about it. (For some reason, it hit me that I needed to write about it now, so here it is!)  So many wonderful songs, yet in particular, I adore the song Elsa sings when she escapes into the mountains to set herself free, “Let it go.”  This incredible story has captured so many for many different reasons.  However, the theme is about your inner gifts, talents & power. The “magic” Elsa has was hidden by fears from those around her, and then she adopted the fears, being afraid of hurting anyone.  She needed to be the perfect girl her parents thought she needed to be. When her biggest fears are realized, she escapes and stays hidden, although the timing of the song “Let it go” is perfect.  She is coming into an understanding of herself, yet is still struggling, as we all do, as we accept ourselves and learn our own hidden treasures.  And, yes they are treasures to be revealed, not hidden.  For like, Elsa, when she fully understands what her gifts are meant to do and how to be fully in her gifts, she is transformed!  Love.  Love is the power that is part of all of us which will allow us to reveal our treasures, our gifts, our talents, our power…fully in all their glory.  No fears to be had, for Love is the cure to fear.  Yes, Love.

It’s time to unleash your power. What gifts are you hiding?  Why are you trying to be perfect? What has been programmed into you that is ready to be set free? What fears are hindering your progress?  Why?   Are you ready to “Let it go”?  If not, why?  If yes, what are you waiting for?  You are the only one who can own your power and allow yourself to do what you are truly destined to do with Love.  Love yourself and your gifts.  The gifts you are given were for a purpose in this lifetime.

As I’ve mentioned, I’ve come into my gifts over time, and didn’t think anyone would “listen” to me and my truths.  This is from past lifetimes, versus this one.  A learned behavior my soul carried from lifetime to lifetime.  In this one, I’m meant to unleash my power.  My truths. My gifts. My treasures.  From others, I’ve been told by quite a few my writing is helpful. Therefore, one of my talents is communication through the written word. I heard the messages I was being given.  So, I stopped hiding and started writing. Small notes, long notes and emails, and now this blog site where anyone who stumbles upon it can read my words if they so desire.  I’ve said to many over the past decade “I’m an Open Book”.  True…and another song in this delightful movie is “Love is an Open Door.”  This song has so many levels of meaning, it staggers my mind.  But again, it’s all about Love.  If you do not open your door, Love can’t come in.  Yes, you have inner Love, but by hiding, you will not experience it, as it is through sharing we experience our Love of self.  Gifts we give others, we receive several to many times over.  I share my beliefs, feelings, thoughts and more here and elsewhere, always with Love.  Love gives me the courage, strength, understanding & wisdom to share my inner truths.  These are my shining treasures I now choose to share, not being concerned about what others think.  For, this is my path…that is their path.  Perhaps the paths shall meet, cross or merge for a time or more, but I need to be concerned about my path for my soul’s journey. Those who resonant with me and like my path will find one similar and I’m always willing to help & guide those who wish to be helped.  That is another way I’ve unleashed my power.  I’m meant to help others, to help others heal and to help others unleash their inner truths, gifts and power.  Therefore, I’m not fearful of showing my power. If you want help answering the questions above and unleashing your power with Love, Understanding & Kindness, contact me at heatherclang@yahoo.com, or find me on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/NamasteRaysNews.Sunshine and send me a note there.
