Today’s SSA!
Look for the little things in life that lift you up. It is all the little things that make up life, and the big ones happen, yet, we have more little ones.
I have been walking around my neighborhood for some fresh air and exercise (since I was used to 5 days per week working and getting a lot of exercise at work…and now I’m missing that.) I’ve noticed that more people have been a lot more friendly than they were pre-mid March. More people are smiling at each other, waving from their front porches, or saying hello sometimes with small chitchat to me and to each other. People are being more kind, considerate and loving. This lifts me up.
One day, a young girl let me pet her new puppy (girl and I stayed the “proper distance” apart). At first the puppy had been scared, but then just warmed right up and rolled over to let me pet him, which was so fun and made me giggle. More people are having fun and sharing things to help others laugh. This lifts me up.
More people in the grocery stores are paying attention to where they are going, allowing people to go before them, and/or also smiling and saying hello. More people are being more present. This lifts me up.
I have had friends send me notes, and little gifts to make sure I have food. People are being more generous with their time and their resources. This lifts me up.
So many little things that lift me up. What lifts you up?
Shine your smile and lift someone up! 💖🌟
