Live simply for abundance

Slide1

Other than being grateful for what you already have in your life to attract more abundance, what else can you do?  First, ask yourself what type of abundance you wish to create.  Do you wish to have more love?  Do you wish to have more creativity?  Do you wish to have more free time?  Do you wish to have more calmness?

Living simply, you create more abundance in your life.

I’ve learned the more simply you live, the more abundance you can have in all these areas.  Being more loving, creates more love, for instance.

If you wish to have more tranquility in your life, remove the drama in your life.  Drama creates havoc and stress, which are the opposites of tranquility. Just because others in your life are creating drama does not mean you have to join in the program. Listen, breathe, and realize drama simply accomplishes nothing. Drama is also complaining. What does complaining actually do?  It’s non-active. Do something active about the situation. This creates more abundance in your life because you are now utilizing your time more effectively.  Using our time more effectively is living simply.  Less drama is simpler than more drama.  Remember to ask yourself in drama situations “How important is it…..” and fill in the blank.  How important is it to participate in the drama?  Or perhaps the gossip? Live a more simple life and opt out of the drama.

Another way to create more abundance is to stop living in the past, especially when the past is causing the guilt and shame to stay with you.  This is excess baggage you simply do not need. Work on figuring out why you feel the need to continually feel guilty about something.  Once you have…drop the guilt and fix it if you can. Sometimes the only way to fix it is to ask for forgiveness from yourself. When we are carrying less baggage around like shame & guilt, we feel lighter.  Isn’t being lighter more freeing?  Isn’t being lighter simpler than carrying tons of baggage?

We all want to have “more time” as well. What can you stop to create more time?  How can you create more abundance of time in your day?  Get up an hour earlier?  Ask for help from the family on the household duties?  Make an action plan and stick to it?  Schedule time with family & friends? Schedule time for yourself?  Learn how to say “no”? We don’t have to be superwomen & supermen.  We simply do not.  How important is it?

Living a more simple life includes taking actions to obtain more abundance.

Living a more simple life includes taking physical, mental, emotional and spiritual actions towards obtaining more abundance. Opt out of the drama. Drop the baggage. Gossip less.  And then…forgive more; love more; be more kind, compassionate and understanding.  When we are in a positive state of mind with love, kindness, compassion and understanding, the abundance which flows back to us is astounding.  When we realize how we are spending our time, we can change our frame of mind, our schedule and our whole Being to move towards the abundance we truly want.

May you create more abundance in your life by living simply.

Appreciation vs Judging

Slide1

Do you tend to jump to conclusions about someone?  Perhaps about their behavior?  Their clothes?  Their speech?  This is a form of judging others.  When we choose to talk about someone instead of to them we are judging them. How do we truly know what they are doing; why they are behaving in such a manner, or why they aren’t wearing something else?  Judgement can also be a way of feeding our own ego.  When we state “He shouldn’t be acting like that” or “She shouldn’t be wearing that”, we are comparing ourselves to them to make ourselves feel better…feeding our ego.  Instead, we can appreciate their choices as something they are doing on their own path.  We are on our path, they are on theirs.  We can appreciate a different point of view or a different way of dressing or even a different pattern of speech.  We can appreciate another is choosing to express themselves in such a way we wouldn’t, but it doesn’t make their way worse or even better than our way.

When we appreciate instead of judge, we bring more Love & Peace to the World. ~ Heather Lang

By appreciating everything about another person we are able to bring more love into the world.  It also creates more peace.  Appreciation for both what we like and dislike can allow us to better understand someone, and when someone feels understood, they are less defensive and less likely to react in a poor manner.

Yesterday I was watching a recording of “The Ellen Show” (one of my favorites!), and she was interviewing Lady Gaga.  I’m not a huge fan of the way she dresses, however I do like her voice.  If I were to say “She shouldn’t dress like that!”, I’d be judging her.  I simply care to dress another way.  What was very interesting about the interview was Lady Gaga discussed that she has always chosen to express herself through her unique style of dress.  It has never been something she does solely to sell records. She mentioned she thought other people have thought she did it just for that reason, when she has been doing it long before she became famous. I can appreciate her honesty, as well as her choices to express herself how she wishes to do so.

Have you recognized when another chooses to judge another?  What do you do?  Do you choose to go along with it?  Or do you speak up?  Therefore, hearing someone say something negative about another’s apparel or hair we can state “Well, if they choose to express themselves that way, it is their choice.” Speaking up in a non-confrontational way helps promote a more peaceful & loving acceptance, and thus appreciation for another’s style.  It doesn’t mean you want to be like that person, only you accept them for who they are regardless of style. We can like someone and not like the way they dress. We can like someone and not care for an opinion they have which we do not share. This is spreading love & peace. We can also then be grateful through our acceptance & appreciation, for another has shown us something more about how we feel…our own inner truth. And, expressing our own inner truths is what we are meant to do.  And don’t we want others to like us and appreciate us, even though we have differences?  When we do our appreciate the differences, we can then explore more fully our similarities..that deep down we all want love & peace.

May you transform your judgements to appreciation!

Enlightenment through Feelings

Slide1Do you use anger, defensiveness or sadness to hide a feeling from others in your life? Do you ever use these types of emotions to hide what is truly happening within you from yourself?  Have you considered how extremely revealing those negative emotions can be?

Our feelings towards others are remarkably enlightening when we dig deep and heal from past hurts.

When our first reaction is anger, defensiveness or some other harmful emotion, stop and think.  We can choose to dip deep and discover why. Ask yourself “Why am I acting this way?” or “Why does this anger me so?” or even “Why do I feel the need to be defensive?”  Sometimes we bury the hurt so others cannot see our vulnerabilities.   But it is those vulnerabilities we need to express and heal to move forward in our lives.  Perhaps something from childhood crops up with others, and you become defensive.  Wouldn’t it be a better use of time to figure out what the hurt from childhood is and work to heal yourself from this pain vs. continually allowing it to do you harm?

Do not be fearful of the truth, because you are not your past hurts.  It may be difficult to bring them up, but once you have faced them and healed them, they can no longer harm you.  This is how we grow and learn our lessons. When you know yourself this intimately, you can transform your life. This is the  baggage you no longer need to carry.  Find a quiet place and be in solitude.  Access what in your life is causing you to react in a certain way. Note the other person has nothing to do with it. They have their own vulnerabilities and issues to deal with, which may be why they acted towards you the way they did.  You do not have to worry about them. You need only concern yourself with you.  You have the power to change yourself.  Facing our fears, hurts and vulnerabilities creates strength.  It helps us on our path to enlightenment. It helps us become happier and more compassionate. It helps us live in Love & Peace with ourselves and others.  And isn’t that a better place to be?

May you heal by uncovering that which causes you harm.

Mindfulness

Slide1One time while leading one of my yoga classes, we were doing Moon Salutations for the New Moon. I like to mix things up after a few rounds, and sometimes each round. This particular class had three individuals who have done this flow with me. It was amazing because all three of them anticipated a pose I included in the last few rounds, and none of them heard me lead them into a different pose at that point. All three of them are in a Crescent Moon pose, and I’m in Warrior II pose. I joked that their Warriors all needed some work…and all three of them looked at me at the same time. They realized what they had done. They weren’t paying attention and being in the moment. It was like an “Aha” moment for all of us. This was just one incident of the message, but it was a profound one, indeed.
Mindfulness allows us to focus on ourselves and can help us reach for enlightenment. – Heather Lang
Mindfulness is being in your present moment without anticipating what is coming next. It’s allowing what comes next to flow to you. So many people tend to go through the motions without being attentive to the situation. Driving is a perfect example. While driving, many are paying more attention distractions such as the radio, the cell phone, other car occupants, or thinking about their “to-do” list. Yet, driving requires mindfulness. If you aren’t paying attention to driving, you might hit another car, or you might run a stop sign, or worse, hurt yourself or someone else.
Mindfulness is being attentive to each moment, action, feeling and thought. It’s ensuring you know exactly what is happening around you and within you, without judging. It’s being completely aware and focused in the present moment without worrying about the future or repeating your past. Mindfulness is not allowing yourself to be distracted by outside forces, people, events or situations. Mindfulness allows you to focus solely on you and the purpose at hand. Mindfulness can then lead to enlightenment as you recognize what is happening within you. You can then be aware of a feeling that crops up and you can attend to it. While practicing yoga lately, I’ve noticed my calves are very tight. I’ve been ensuring I warm them up and stretch them out. I have, also, been asking “what am I carrying around in my calves which I cannot release?” I believe I have found the answer, which sits “right” within my heart chakra. Another “Aha” moment! I enlightened myself to something that I didn’t realize I was still carrying around for the past 22 years! All of us are still learning and growing, after all!
May you practice mindfulness in your life and reach for your enlightened self!

Luck vs. Blessings

When something happens to you which is in your favor, do you think “I’m lucky!”  Or perhaps when another person in your life gets something you desire, you think “She is just lucky.”  What is luck?  Why do you believe you are lucky when something happens you like…or you are unlucky when something happens you dislike? Being lucky is non-active word.  It means you believe you or another hasn’t worked to achieve success; or someone does not deserve a windfall; or they are another are unworthy.  Everything which happens to us is for a reason.  So, luck has nothing to do with it. If you consider someone unlucky because they are born poor, or someone lucky because they are born wealthy, it doesn’t consider the reason for that person. The poor person may need to learn to work harder.  The rich person may need to learn how to share.  What is important is what blessings they have worked for to attain the lessons and healing they were born to do.Slide1

Changing your thinking from “being lucky” to “being blessed” brings even more positivity and healing to your life.

Consider changing your mindset from “Being lucky” to “Being blessed”.  Being blessed is more active.  Thinking someone is blessed or you are blessed is a more active thought process.  It’s a more loving, compassionate mind-set.  Because when we think we are blessed, we are more grateful for what has happened to us or to another person in our lives. When thinking “blessings”, we acknowledge we have done something  positive to receive the person, situation, object, etc, that has entered our lives.  Thinking in terms of blessings is also positive thought energy.  When we cultivate our positive thoughts, more positivity is attracted to us.  Simply being positive is a blessings, as it brings us more to be grateful for in our lives.  This is a way to manifest in your life exactly what you desire and what you need. Thinking in terms of blessings also considers the lessons we need to learn and how we need to learn, for both the good and the challenging are blessings.

May you create healing in yourself by sending energies of blessings with your thoughts.

Heal first to manifest what nurtures your soul

Slide1We know thoughts are powerful.  We can manifest with our minds alone if we truly believe and have faith in ourselves and in our self-worth. Yes, we must take actions, but those actions must be in conjunction with the belief we are worthy of receiving the abundance the universe is waiting to deliver.
To feel worthy of abundance, we must first heal ourselves in order to manifest what nurtures our soul.
Without first healing ourselves to be in balance with our higher selves, anything we manifest is only superficial. Can you manifest more money without healing yourself?  Technically, this is possible.  The question becomes…will more material goods fulfill you?  Do you believe the material goods will make you happy for the rest of your life? It’s time to dig deep into your inner spirit and determine what you think those material goods will give you.  Happiness?  Love?  More friends?  Will those additional friends be true to you?  Or might they only be true to the gifts you give them?  Are they trustworthy?  Ask yourself what you admire in others and what you value.  Those are the things to manifest.  And, we can only manifest them in our own perfect health.  Once in perfect health, we can manifest happiness & love.  We can manifest trustworthy friends.  Why?  Because we have balanced ourselves and we then attract what we exude.  We exude happiness, love, trustworthiness and more. This is part of your soul’s path.   Once you find what you need to heal, what you truly want in your life comes naturally…that’s manifestation at it’s purest level.  Like attracts like.  Love attracts love. Happiness attracts happiness.  You get the picture.  So, heal yourself and manifest more self-worth, self-confidence and self love. And you will then feel worthy of all the abundance the universe is waiting to send you.
May you heal, nurture your soul and manifest your heart’s true desires.

Abundance & Prosperity

What do you think you deserve? Do you want something and yet, don’t really feel deep down you deserve it? Is it love? Is it money? Is it creativity? Or do you worry you do not have it or enough of it?Slide1

The great conundrum is we want abundance & prosperity in all areas of life, yet continue to worry about how it will happen.

The great conundrum for so many is that we want abundance, and yet we constantly worry about what we may or may not already have in our lives. We worry how we will have enough money to pay the bills. We worry when the person we are meant to be with will appear. We worry we are not as good, likable, strong, courageous, etc., as the next person. This type of thinking creates lack. It doesn’t help us receive abundance in love, money, friends or whatever it is we want in our lives. When we worry, we are telling the universe to not send us abundance as our thought energy says “I do not have THIS”.

We must recognize we have everything we need. We have abundance and we are prosperous. We need to begin thinking in the present moment we have exactly what it is we want. For instance “I have plenty of money to pay my bills”, or “I have an enormous amount of love in my life”, or even “I’m just as intelligent as another.” Our society has created this feeling of lack…that we never have enough, or we aren’t good enough for whatever reason, when the complete opposite is true. There is not a finite amount of money…there is plenty to go around. Everyone is intelligent and perfectly suited to do what they need to do in their unique way. Everyone has plenty of courage and strength within them. Everyone is good and likable. It’s important to THINK, ACT and FEEL as if you already have the abundance and prosperity you want and need…because you do! Thinking in this manner is manifesting your exact needs, desires & wishes for the abundance & prosperity the universe will deliver to you. The universe matches like with like…so if you worry you don’t have enough, you won’t. If you think you have plenty, you will.

May you start and continue to know you have the abundance you do.

Ultimate Freedom

Do you feel your life is out of your control? Perhaps all the time? Perhaps only some of the time? When we feel this way, our stress levels tend to increase and we can become anxious, or upset. These feelings do not bring us peace, nor do they provide us with a feeling of freedom.Slide1

When we learn how to take control of our own lives, we will know true freedom.

Taking control of our own lives includes being aware of who or what is controlling you, and how it’s happening. Perhaps why it’s happening. For instance, if you are always available when your manager needs something from you, even though you must get something done for you, you are allowing it to happen. You are giving your control away and your power. Perhaps you believe if you are not always available, the manager will write you up or fire you. A simple question can begin to help you: “Do you need it right now, or can we schedule a time to discuss it?” This can also lead to a small conversation, however, you are taking control simply by asking it. Sometimes you will get a “no” and sometimes a “yes”. It’s practicing compromise.

Another way to help take control of your life is cultivating more acceptance of the current circumstance you find yourself in and not allowing your feelings to be controlled by another. Acceptance does not require you to “like” it. It merely requires you to accept it. When you are able to accept everything in your life…whether it is something you like or dislike, peace ensues. And, again, you feel freer, as you are not bogged down with anger or worry. It’s freeing to feel the acceptance and through this feeling, you can take control. You realize your own power in the situation. You can take control of how you feel, how you think and how you act or react. This also brings a sense of freedom.

When we allow others to control us, we are giving our power away. We feel “powerless” to do what we want and need to do. The only person you are responsible for is you. You have the power to control you. By continually using the question and cultivating acceptance of any answer, freedom follows. These concepts can be applied to any person or situation in your life. As you work them into all facets of your life, the way you feel will begin to change. You will feel more in control as you bring back your power. Then, you will know true freedom.

May you take your power back and control your life!

Discovering Your Authentic Self

Slide1

Will the real you, please stand up? Do you know who this person is? Have you discovered your true self?

Discovering and living your authentic self leads to trust, love and, eventually, incredible joy.

Be the best person you can be, as you are the only one who can do it. When you reveal to others your authentic self, they can sense it. They can sense the truth in you. Because you trust your truth, they believe you and cultivate faith & trust in you. Your own inner discovery will lead you to inner depths of your authentic soul, which can be messy. This can and will bring up old issues we haven’t dealt with fully. But we must deal with our own messes – emotional, mental, spiritual and physical ones – to uncover the truth behind it. Once the truth is revealed to you…you can rise above it, heal it and realize the new truth. This new truth you now know cultivates inner trust. You now fully accept and trust in your beliefs, thoughts, opinions, actions and more, for as the old is removed, the new stems from your authentic self.

When you trust yourself, you exhibit self-confidence. Self-confidence is very attractive to others as it allows them to see the truth in your words & actions. Then you are self-confident, you love yourself more. This self-love expresses itself through the respect you have for yourself. The people around you notice this respect, thus the change in you. The true ones will be trustworthy to you…and those who may not be, will drop out of your life. Those who drop out have not yet come to comprehend your change, as you are no longer living their expectations of you. This does not make them happy or comfortable as they haven’t dealt with their own inner issues. This wonderful change in you is for the betterment of your soul journey. You must live your life to your truth. It is not possible to continue living a life others expect you to live. When you live to other’s expectations, it leads to unhappiness. Changing your focus to your life’s path through discovering and being your authentic self leads to a wonderful inner light flaring, bringing you incredible joy. This true happiness emanates in all you do. Since we all want the kind of trust and love that brings us extraordinary joy, it makes sense to go to your depths and bring forth the light of your authentic self.

May you discover and live your authentic life!
Namaste!

Transformation Journey

With each new moon, the theme of transformation presents itself. The moon appears to transform each month as it waxes and wanes. The new moon energies can be used to bring newness into your life, but first we must make room for those energies by facing our old ideas, thought patterns and mindsets and allow them to die off.Slide1
The journey towards transformation is both challenging and incredibly fulfilling.
Transformation can lead to ascension by facing our biggest fears, questioning what we have known to be true and allowing our unconscious to surface. The unconscious can hold both the reasons behind our biggest fears AND our own inner truth…what we truly know to be true. Connecting into this unconscious mind is a way of contacting your higher self. Our higher selves are part of the One Consciousness of Divine Love. It’s where all knowledge and wisdom is stored and can be accessed. Fears can be holding you back from the abundance the universe is working to deliver to you. For instance, do you fear learning new things because someone told you “you can’t do that”. If you did learn it, you can do it! Perhaps you have feelings of being unworthy of success; or fears of not having “enough” to pay your bills; or worries you aren’t as good at something as someone else. All of these hold you back from your true potential. Repeat after me: “I AM WORTHY. I HAVE MORE THAN ENOUGH. I AM MORE THAN GOOD ENOUGH.” You are unique and here for a reason, being both ALL and ONE of ALL is how the universe works, as we are all Divine Light, and yet we are all separate souls working together to form a better world. Knowing this, we must learn to not allow society to dictate our beliefs, nor our ways. We must learn for ourselves what is right for each of us. Anything we choose to do will be different because we are unique and will be doing it in our unique way. And this is what ascending and connecting to your Higher Self is all about.Doing something beyond our comfort zone is scary in and of itself. Yet, when we let the old programmed ideas fall away and die off, we can be reborn wiser and stronger. The old ways, even though they no longer serve us, feel comfortable. It can be difficult to let go of what we have always known and be different than how society continues to function, yet the more we break off from the mainstream thought processes, the more we can learn and grow…and thus ascend. Ascension in this aspect means growing past all the fears, raising your vibration by thinking only in a positive manner, and helping society see past the illusions. Ascension is a messy and destructive process as we transform ourselves from what we were into what we actually are. It’s advancing our souls in this lifetime. Seeing past these illusions created by others to deal with chaos helps us see the Light, the Truth and the Love in which we truly dwell. The more we realize our own ideas, beliefs and ways, the more fulfilling our lives can be. We are happier and more at peace. We become less concerned with what others think of us and more interested in how we can continue to help others through our own examples, how we can continue to transform and ascend, and how we can continue to rise our vibrations.
May you face your fears, transform your thoughts and ascend to your true self!
Namaste!
